We recently revised our prenatal classes and I was responsible for the
breastfeeding one. Based on wise advice received here and elsewhere I
chose to focus on "how-to" rather than how it works, and did the how-to
before the how it works.

My fellow staff are up in arms. They feel that the parents must know
how it works before they can learn how to BF. As someone wise here
said, "I don't know exactly how the car works, but I can drive just
fine"

I have done a PubMed search for articles that relate to breastfeeding
preparation but am coming up with only generalities not specifics
regarding content of classes. And, by gosh, we'd better have research
if we're going to change something!!

Can anyone point me towards some research on the content of prenatal BF
classes? Even a bibliography in someone's book would be terrific.
