I just found out Babywise is being recommended by a peds group in my area
to all their mothers, almost mandatory to stay in their care.
I am dumbfounded, what can I do to convince them otherwise? I recommend
attachment parenting, Dr. Sears to all my new moms. I just looked up the
archives and received some information such as the AAP not recommending
this method. I am starting with this. TIA for any advice, I read negative
advice about LC's in the book.

How sad. I sometimes wonder if pediatricians recommend it so parents won't
call them with questions -- after all, if you put the baby on a schedule and
he cries, you only have to go into the room every 15 minutes or so to check
on him, but otherwise, crying is "normal." And since lots of mothers don't
have enough milk, don't sweat trying to breastfeed, it's perfectly OK to give
formula.....

Sigh.

Anyway, Ellen, go to _www.ezzo.info_ (http://www.ezzo.info) for a LOT of
information, including some first hand stories of mothers/babies who have had
bad outcomes, either physically or psychologically from this method.
