OUCH. Where did I say I wasn't worried about what's happening within UNICEF
??

I've spend an enormous amount of time looking at this and discussing it with
advocates world wide.. and trying to get the IBFAN response circulated.

However, what I really said was that I am not convinced of the value of (i)
a letter writing campaign where people write similar letters without being
confident of what specific message they were getting across. ("UNICEF fails
to support the WHO Code" needs some explanation.)
Letters that sound sincere, and personally understanding of the issues are
more effective.

(ii) and focusing on the individual in this very public, well-represented
forum.

I've offered to forward the letter sent by IBFAN - it's too long for the
list, and I can't send an attachment, so please request a copy privately.

It's a very well thought through, and strong political letter - and could
help with individuals' letter writing, around the world.
