In my humble opinion: "the perinatal and pediatric health care providers who
NEED to be breastfeeding advocates"  ...need to be exposed to the HEART of
breastfeeding, as well as the head (dry, factual clinical.) The beauty of
LACTNET is that here is a place to become exposed to probably the most awsome
pool of wise women ever to be assembled in one place.(well at least each in
front of a computer screen...)  Why apologize for this, or consider changing
it to make it more palatable?  Let's not underestimate the power of the heart
to touch those who are coming to this place for the very first time.  I want
my clinical practice to be embodied by my personal, emotional, and intuitive
knowledge and experiences, which I feel make me a much more valuable care
giver.  We model this for newcomers on LACTNET.  I think it's a good thing.
