I have talked to a father whose wife is having problems with her production
of milk. I haven't made contact with her yet and hope she will being willing
to see me.

She has hit the six week wall pumping for her premature twins. One is on
minimal stimulation with a colostomy who is not able to come out of the
warmer, but the other although being tube-fed is active and sucking on OGT.
She could at least nuzzle at the breast but the last time mom came in she
declined to hold her skin-to-skin saying she was dirty from being at work.
She only pumps 3-4 times a day. Is rarely pumping at work because of the
difficulty of doing so and then only getting 5cc. She gets more when she
pumps at home. Obviously is stressed at her job with the Humane society
where she sometimes works 10 hr/day. The dad is supportive but has reported
that mom is getting to point where she doesn't want anyone else to tell her
what to do. She obviously has been motivated since she has gone this far but
since going back to work last week it may be getting to be too much.

I would appreciate any suggestions should she be willing to see me so that I
have them available. I want to be supportive without incurring guilt. Other
than kangarroo-ing and putting to breast the bigger twin, more frequent
pumping as possible with pictures & other baby stimulation, relaxation
techniques, pumping at the hospital to give fresh milk so mom can have an
increased sense of accomplishment and soft-selling the advantages of
breastfeeding is there anything else I can offer?
