Dear Louanne:

You can find info about cinitapride in www.e-lactancia.org

This web page is run by Spanish pediatricians and pharmacists. The web is
bilingual Spanish-English.

http://www.e-lactancia.org/breastfeeding/cinitapride/product/
Low Risk probable for breastfeeding
Moderately safe.
Mild risk possible. Follow up recommended.
Read the Comment:

Benzamide-type drug that is similar to Cisapride.

At latest update no published data on excretion into breast milk were found.

Drug that is poorly documented in the scientific literature. It seems to be
lacking of side effects (QT-interval prolongation, cardiac arrhythmias)
that led to the withdrawal of Cisapride.

Until more published information about this drug regarding breastfeeding
appears, it may be preferable a known and safer alternative, especially
during the neonatal period and in cases of prematurity.

Jean Piaget
