Just wanted to let you all in on my study results re: my 'study" I mentioned
a week or so ago with the mommy who was having a difficult time letting down
to her pump. I suggested that she try the Symphony and the PNS Advanced
together and see what she thought about their functioning - she loved the
Symphony and is now using that instead of the PSN Advanced to boost and
protect her milk supply. This study was NOT, of course, a professional
study but I did get some interesting results. I also brought in a couple
other mommies on this so have more than 1 mom to back this up - of course it
is all anecdotal. :-)

1) The Symphony is WAY smoother in function than the PSN Advanced.
However, that being said - the moms said that the PSNA would be fine for
them later - but for now.the Symphony wins out.

2) The Milk supply responded better to the smoother pumping of the
Symphony

3) We incorporated a Bowen technique to help with milk supply and let
down

4) I suggested with 3 moms to try a routine of pumping (Symphony) and
it has had tremendous positive effects. It works as such:

Turn on the pump - bump up the let-down phase suction to 3 droplets (like
the new 2.0 card does - 2 of the moms were using Symphony's with the old
card). Pump for 5 minutes - getting the 2 minutes of Let-Down phase and 3
minutes of Regular pumping. Put pressure wherever comfy on the regular
pumping. After 5 minutes turn the pump off and immediately turn it back on
and start over following the routine above (3 drops, 5 minutes total). Do
this routine one more time - for a total of 15 minutes of pumping (if they
are still getting milk after 15 minutes, do this routine 1 more time for a
total of 20 minutes of pumping).

What the moms are finding is that they are getting MORE milk with the extra
let-down phases.they are very pleased! With the 2.0 card all mom needs to
do is press the let-down phase button instead of actually turning the pump
off. So, what I am seeing is that milk supplies are coming up and moms are
draining the breasts better - all good! Anyone else doing something similar
or have any thoughts to this? This was just a routine I am trying - I took
a shot in the dark at doing 5 minute sets - if anyone has any suggestions to
make this better suggest away!

Warmly,
