If a mom has a preemie, she would most-likely be in the hospital anyway
and should take advantage of their pumps.

I've recommended that in addition to any pumping (regardless of preemie
or return to work), women should manually express milk before and after
a pumping session. It doesn't take long, but just before using the pump,
they can gently squeeze the areola a few quick times to stimulate
letdown. And after a pumping, I find hand expression for a minute or two
usually gets that last bit of milk. In the beginning, it also helps to
pump for 5-10min, then use the marmet technique before resuming pumping.

I'm interested in what others recommend for long-term pumping.
