In reading the mother's report complaining that the IBCLC MD didn't
really help her, I got the distinct impression the mom was saying,
"Help me solve this problem, but any solutions
you offer must fit into this box I've brought along." She seemed to
say she would not consider any pain med. Therefore, I was not
surpreised that Nifedipine (sp?) was apparantly not suggested. It
is frustrating when a mom seems to be saying that the only solution
she will consider would be to wave a magic wand over the situation
and make it all go away. Somehow I missed when they passed out
those wands along with our certificates! I also got the impression,
reading between the lines, that she was syaing in effect, "I gave
you guys the chance, but since you couldn't solve it within my
parameters, I'll have to wean. I would have continued, but it's
your falut I have to wean!"
Maybe I'm a little too sarcastic today, but recently had a complaint
presented to me in just such a situation. Mom was unwilling for one
reason or another to try any suggestions I offered. Then I got
blamed for "not helping her". GEEESSSHHH!

Winnie
