Esther,
I have a mom who had the same problem with first baby -- do not know yet
with the new one only 3 days old. She had mammograms, ultrasounds, multiple
blood tests looking for a cause. Was treated for thrush, but since only in
one breast doc did not find it likely, at any rate didn't help. It lasted
for almost 6 months and then stopped. The pain also radiated into her arm,
shoulder and mid back for 15-30 minutes after each feeding. I happened to be
at a conference when she first contacted me so I played "which LC can give
the best answer" by asking every one I sat next to or knew on a first name
basis. LOL One answer was related to blood pressure, which I think now was
leaning toward Reynauds diagnosis. But, that did not pan out either. To
this day she has no idea why this happened. She too is large breasted but we
ruled out muscle strain with excellent positioning and support, and also
because it was only one sided that did not seem to make sense. If you find
an answer, please share because it did not begin with her either until about
5-6 weeks into nursing. She is worrying about it, but being an avid nursing
mom it won't stop her. However, an answer and perhaps a "fix" sure would be
nice. :)
