I'm not even sure one year is sufficient in my mind.  I wish mothering was
recognized as a paying job in itself for those who wish to do it full time.
The closest I see to this in the US is child support, which requires legal
separation from the father of the child(ren) at the very least, and
depending on relative incomes, may not be nearly enough to live on.

I thought the article was marvelously well written, and her conclusion and
challenge did a great job of affirming moms, putting the blame where it
belongs, and giving moms something productive to *do* with their anger.
