I believe moms need to be at home with young babies, children and if that
is what she chooses I would hope that the US could help her do that.  But
what I am seeing is babies in make-shift care, mother's struggling with
very low paying jobs.  Further ed is discouraged in favor of a job - ANY
job.  That is not the path out of poverty or the path to decent parenting.
We are trying to change 40 years of welfare in one big sweep and it is not
kind, will probably not produce the desired effect and children will suffer
because of this new, grand social experiment with people's lives.

I don't want to work to support people who sit on their rears, but I'm
willing to put in my share to help retrain people into productive lives.
