Hi all
I have a curly one and I am hoping you all have some ideas. I have tried
all the suggestions I could find in the archives.
Mother of eight mos old baby suffering from persistent bilateral milk blebs.
I haven't actually seen this pair yet although I hope to in the next few
days. This mother has persistent pain and what the LC I spoke to describes
as some swelling on the nipples and areola in the quadrant around the duct
with the white spot on it. The skin pulls away during each feed but the the
pain persists. When mother expresses (hand or pump) milk flow is reduced
from the ducts that had the white spot. This has been going on for some
17weeks. Skin swab was taken - nil growth. What seems odd to me is that
the spot is on the inside of one breast and the outside of the other. Mum
has tried all the usual suggestions (from kellymom and Dr Jack) to no avail.
Two courses of antibiotics and several treatments with diflucan. No change.
She is trying Dr Jack's APNO at the moment. She is also taking lecithin in
the recommended dose along with a multivitamin and ibuprofen/paracetamol for
the pain. Today she reprts having felt nauseaus for the last six weeks
(negatve preg test).
I have a feeling that all will become clear when I spend some time with this
pair and watch a feed or two or three but I am just wondering if there is
any wisdom in lactnet world that might give me something to look out for.

Thanks
