Guess what the cause of the chin rash was???  (No, I didn't find it, another IBCLC who saw her two days later did.)

The pacifier!

She didn't have it with her, I never asked (as baby was 3 days old), and I was trying to see what was in front of me rather than thinking what ELSE could have been in contact along that strange oblong area of the upper lip (very close to the lip) along the side of the mouth then very long down the area completely to the bottom of the chin...

...so another mystery solved!
