I work in the inner city. Babies who are mostly breastfed have so few sick
visits that you can tell by looking at their charts! (we use white pages
for well vss and blue pages for sick vss.) Ear infections are generally
becoming less frequent as we have been using Prevnar for several years now.
However, I still think it is the immunities in human milk that gives BF
babies the edge.
I'm talking about immunity to ear infections in general, population wide,
not specific families or individuals. There are always individual
exceptions.
