I went to Amazon.com and saw that this book is now selling lots of
copies (sales rank 4,551). There are currently 6 reviews, mostly all
glowing. One reviewer did point out that the discussion of "breast vs
bottle" took less than 200 words.

IMO complaining to the Today show might fall on deaf ears. As far as
they are concerned, a "well-respected" pediatrician from LA wrote a
book and is on a tour. They booked her as a promotion, not because the
information in her book is accurate. That is "not their problem". They
decided to focus on feeding because it is WBW. If it was another time
of year, they would have focused on sleep, baby care, etc.

I think a more effective way to let people know the information is not
accurate is by writing a review on Amazon based on the excerpt that was
published online by the Today show. I believe most people read the
reviews, especially the bad reviews, before making a purchase from
Amazon.

Here is the link to the book:

If that does not come through, the author's name is Cara Familian
Natterson and the book title is "Your Newborn: Head to Toe: Everything
You Want to Know About Your Baby's Health Through the First Year".

If the Today show wanted to seriously book someone to talk directly
about breastfeeding during WBW and they wanted a book tie-in, they
could have easily gone with La Leche League (Womanly Art of
Breastfeeding newly revised) or with Mary Renfrew et al (Bestfeeding:
How to Breastfeed Your Baby newly revised). If they wanted a more
general book, they could have also gone with Elizabeth Pantley's
"Gentle Baby Care", which is also new.
