Thanks for sharing the story about the Amish couple, Dr. Decker. My husband
has worked with the Amish in Delaware, taking "immunization clinics" to
them, as they usually don't see pediatricians on a regular basis, but are
happy to have the kids immunized. I should have him ask about their
breastfeeding practices next time (how long, not whether).

Cultural differences can also be within one culture -- I've had some major
culture shock moving from Texas to Delaware. Just a few quick examples --
in Delaware, many of the restaurants don't take either credit cards or
checks. Cash only, and there usually is no sign informing you, the
restaurant personnel just expect everyone to know! At the grocery store,
you can't pay with a personal check, even a local one, unless you have a
Delaware driver's license. I had to pay for my first groceries with a
credit card (at least the grocery store took credit cards)! And in New
Jersey, you aren't allowed to pump your own gas at a gas station -- it's
against the law.
