As has been posted here, Hartmann's diagram of the breast can be found at
http://www.biochem.biomedchem.uwa.edu.au/staff/home_pages/academic_staff/hartmann/peter_hartmann/download )
. I have learned a great deal about the "new thinking" regarding breast
anatomy by taking an online course from http://www.health-e-learning.com/
entitled "Anatomy & Physiology of the Lactating Breast." (Thank you, Denise
Fisher, for your wonderful online courses!) You can also find an extremely
well written, up-to-date explanation of breast anatomy in an article from
the March-April issue of La Leche League's magazine NEW BEGINNINGS entitled
"Anatomy of a Working Breast," written by Anna Edgar. This article can be
found online at http://www.llli.org/NB/NBMarApr05p44.html.

Other sources, not online, are also available, e.g., the newly published 3rd
edition of Breastfeeding and Human Lactation by Jan Riordan (2005). The
third chapter of this text provides a thorough explanation of the anatomy
and physiology of lactation, incorporating Hartmann's research.
