A while ago a large Finnish newspaper wrote about a study made by
Kalliomaki et al (actually it is Kalliomäki, but I am not sure how the
Scandinavian letter a with two dots above shows on pcs outside
Scandinavia). They had found out that if a child has more of bifido
bacteria in her/his guts, s/he is more likely to be normal weight at
the age of seven years. (And we all know human milk has certain
factors which promote the growth of bifodo bacteria.)
