I could hardly wait to get to my computer this a.m. and share this. I
watched a fascinating PBS show last night on the life of the French
mathematician who defined Fractal Geometry.

Because of the advance publicity, I made a point to watch it, because it
reminded me about the embryonic and fetal growth of the breast.

Sure enough, there is a geometric connection between the arborization of
trees and other plants, the outline of snowflakes and even coast lines
and stock market "curves", light and sound waves, and the "fracturing" of
lightning bolts, and they are now using the principle in magnetic imaging
of the liver and the way it's arteries branch. I imagine the medical
applicatons are just beginning.

It was simply fascinating to me to compare the highlights with the
developmental insights I have gleaned about the sprouting of the ductal
"tree" and the "budding" of the terminal end buds into more ducts,
ductules and alveoli, and THEN, by extension, probably even the formation
of the milk itself!

(It's 7 a.m. here now folks. A snack of Lactnet for me is like the
breakfast time crossword puzzle for a lot of folks!)
