Jessica,
Hang in there. I may have missed this is a previous post, but
you don't say what your work hours ar or proximity of child
care to your work.
Can you arrange child care close to work and take nursing
breaks to be with the baby? Can you cut back hours or rearrange
them somewhat around the baby's schedule? Is your child care
provider caring for other children as well or could she bring
the baby to you, or meet you somewhere? Can you arrange a sitter
in the workplace to watch you daughter while you work and have her
close to you. This requires space at work and will probably
be more expensive.
This all sounds complicated, but keep in mind (and remind
your boss) that it is *time limited*. The baby will probably
settle in and, in the next few months, will be expanding
her culinary repertoire.
Your behavior is important modeling for your clients, that
includes the fact that babies are sometimes inconvenient vis
a vis grownup schedules and we have to be creative
in making accomodations for them. This is only the beginning
of parenting. In many ways, you and your clients will be making
accomodations for your children's schedules for many years to
come, for all the wonderful and not so wonderful reasons that
we have to make accomodations in our adult lives and schedules
for our children.
  Hope this is helpful.
