I just got the internet 3 days ago and am amazed.  Please note that I put
how long I've been cerified etc. as this situation has me stumped.  The 1st
time mom is from India the baby is 2 months old.  SHe came c/o "baby
wouldn't nurse" well. Also with sore Right breast, nipple, areolar, and
SEVERE pain in the scapula area when the milk lets down.  THe baby received
6 oz in 6 minutes!!! So, we tX for Over active let down with cabbage,
onesided nursing. She saw her Dr the next day and instead of tx for yeast,
he gave her 10 days of antibiotics!!! Then he  treated her for yeast (she
also had augmentin after her 4th degree @ birth) with
Nystatin Cream and ONE dose of Diflucan.  She was told by the pharmacist
and the pediatrician not to take it over one day.   The over active let
down is better, the nipple pain is better but the pain in her back is
"unbearable."
She is very committed to nursing and is an RN.  Her mother has given her
daily deep massage, heat packs, ice packs.....what else can we try?  I
called her today after seeing all the gentian violet notes and she'll try
that. HELP!!!!!!!
