Lactnetters,
I've posted some quotes from the Ezzo materials, and there has also been some
inquiries and remarks about all of this. Just recently I was doing an
internet search and discovered that BABYWISE is being promoted heavily for
twin and multiple parenting as the only way to bring sanity into the home. In
fact, a set of quintuplets in the L.A. area just turned one, and two of the
media stories (one tv, one newspaper) contained the parent's enthusiastic
testimony of how they couldn't have survived without the help they received
from the book BABYWISE. I'm a reasonable person, and I think most of us here
are, that I can see where some degree of scheduling may be needed and wanted
by breastfeeding moms of multiples. However, I don't want them to have to
turn to these materials, because they'll get a narrow version of scheduling
that places too many constraints on breastfeeding, not to mention precludes
the other needs of their babies and the other options available as well.

So--------- I see a need for an article or pamphlet on "How to Survive Twins
and Mutiples"--- with emphasis on making breastfeeding work, words of wisdom
on when and how scheduling may be beneficial, and perhaps also how to make
demand feeding work and still get some rest. I don't think we need info so
much on pillows or positions, but of an overall philosphy that helps yet has
flexibility. This is not my area of expertise, though I certainly do counsel
women to the best of my ability as they come to me. Does someone here on
lactnet have more qualifications and feel the calling to write such a thing
up? It would be an excellent thing to place on the web, for starters, to
show parents that there is more than "one" way to parent multiples and
survive.

Waiting hopefully,
