I have also had women insist on using the wrong pump only to have major difficulties from this choice. All you can do is stear someone in the right direction. You can't make them do anything. 

Perhaps this women felt you were trying to "sell" her something by referring her to the pump depot and got mad at what she perceived as the sales pitch. My husband sometimes reacts this way in similar situation (even if the person is completely correct, he often takes it as they are trying to manipulate him!). 

The flip side is that if you had said nothing about her pump, and later on she found out what a bad pump this is and how wrong it is for her situation, she would have been mad at you then for not telling her.

You can't win sometimes! As IBCLCs we are ethically obligated to give good/correct information and that is what you did.
