All the more reason for baby to prefer mom! Plus the idea that the baby "only" gets milk with vacuum where on a full breast baby does not have to work that hard to get milk as mom is letting down. These are some of the things that will be figured out as time goes on and more of these reach the marketplace.

i am not convinced that this system is any "better" (as in: closer to breastfeeding, or able to prevent nipple confusion or whatever benefits medela claims it to have).
i've been given one for tests at a medela "show" and would not recommend it to any parent.

Having not held it in my hands, I can't evaluate, but upon the photos it looks like small babies might feed with a closed mouth posture (not like breastfeeding). If I am able to acquire three for testing, I'll post results.
