 That would probably be a result of the anise and/or fennel, which are well
known for their digestion soothing properties.>>

A mother I knew didn't want to give her baby the local fennel-flavoured
colic remedy so took it herself at around 5pm (in a larger dose than
recommended for babies) and also noticed a difference on the days when she
forgot to take it.
