Just to let you all know. The donations from the quilt raffle conducted
this past summer have been distributed. KB and KGA, your LACTNET
co-mothers, hope you agree with us that these funds needed to be
distributed widely. They were!

The recipients were:

A researcher in Brazil whose work needed assistance getting going and which
will have many positive implications for our understanding of lactation

A La Leche League leader in Zambia who does a great deal of peer counseling
teaching and who sent us beautiful pictures of her most recent group of
peer counselors (we were SO impressed!)

INFACT Canada, which, at our request, distributed the donation to groups in
Canada, in Mexico, and in Central America.

Each of the recipients of these monies were very grateful and impressed
with the generosity of all the LACTNUTS who participated in this project.

Please know that NONE of that money went toward any expenses other than the
donations except what was required to get the quilts to the winners of
same. Neither KB nor KA, nor--for that matter--Jay Simpson who acted as
our treasurer and collector of funds made a dime. Which was as it should
be. This was simply LACTNET's way of collecting the money, not of
benefitting from it.

We wish you all happy and love-filled holidays, a time when it is easy to
feel overwhelmed and so time-poor that we leave our own needs unmet. How
about--this year--making a resolution to eliminate ONE holiday-related
responsibility in order to make more time your yourself! Each of you
deserves to enjoy these times rather than to feel completely worn out by
them.

Later, folks....
