Usually in a prenatal situation I will ask if the parents have ever
experienced the 'nibblies'. I'm not sure if it a slang term elsewhere for a
day of grazing but here it means spending the whole day constantly looking
for something to nibble on. After everyone agrees, and usually laughs, I
explain that babies have those kind of days too, that although they happen
at other times, most parents notice them around 1 month to 6 weeks and that
it doesn't mean there isn't enough milk any more than an adult with the
nibblies means there is no food in the house. This is not technical and
relates to the parent's personal experience, so seems to work well.
