Have a mom G3 P3 with a 28 week preemie 2 days postpartum who is reluctant to
pump for her baby bc of a suspected ruptured silicone breast implant. She is
afraid that the silicone will somehow get into the milk supply. Have checked
the archives and found that not to be likely, printed the info and then asked
the RN to ask the doc if there were a test the lab could do to determine the
amount of silicone in her milk supply. (Lab was incredulous.)
Her other children are all very allergic and used Nutramagen. She seems to
have an enormous amount of guilt connected to these implants and refers to
the situation as her punishment for having had them. Any wise words,
opinions or anything that I might try with her? TIA.
