In the last few days I have viewed two new public health DVDs made for new
parents by Queensland Health (the state DoH), both excellent. One is
"Starting out: Tips for surviving the early days with your baby", made for
and by the Child Health Service, Metro South. The breastfeeding content is
excellent.

The other is a new one of which I saw a preview, made at the Royal Brisbane
& Women's Hospital (RBWH), the title of which escapes me. It emphasises what
babies know to do, to get to the breast and have a good breastfeed - working
with the baby's innate abilities. It is very useful on infant cues about
being ready to feed. It also has a good blend of ethnicities among the
mother and fathers featured. I believe these DVDs are for use in their
respective health district, and not currently for sale. It was good to see
two really good new items.
