My info regarding nontreatment of giardia came from a Microbiology text book
written by I. Edward Alcamo.  I have since spoken to a Dr. with the CDC in
Atlanta who does not reccomend this approach.  She also wanted to stress how
essential proper handwashing is EVERY time for mom as it would be very easy to
carry a few of these parasites to the breast while positioning baby thus
infecting baby.
