Hi everyone!
My partner and I just had a consult with a mom who is on the list
for an adoptive newborn within the next 6 months or so. We've r
read BF Human Laction and BF Answer Book for their info, but
wonder what kind of input we could get from some of you who have
had personal experience working with adoptive moms who BF. This
mom seems to have it all together and had the consult to get
the specifics of BF an adopted baby. Since neither of us has
worked with an adoptive mom before, I'm coming to all of you.
By the way my partner is the adoptive mother of twins (now 11)
and the BF mother of a 14 yr old. One specific question that
came up was could HIV be passed from an adopted baby who was
BFing to the adoptive mom?
This question is on a different subject--my partner seems to
remember reading something about the nutritional value of soy
formula not being as good as cow milk based, yet lots of pedia-
tricians recommend soy. Any info?
Thanks in advance.
