IME this picture doesn't work well to encourage anything unless it's people
who really KNOW about breastfeeding.

The usual resonses I get are: skepticism this is due soley to artificial
feeding, skepticism these are even twins, arguments that this isn't from
artificial feeding this is from improper mixing/bad water etc not from the
artificial feeding itself and that 'proper' artificial feeding would never
yield such results, etc.

The thing is, people don't see babies like this in the western world, which
it seems to me is where women have the hardest time convincing themselves
or others have the hardest time convincing them to nurse. The formula fed
babies they see play football and are healthy robust tornados of energy for
the most part. It's just totally *not* their reality for most people that
there would be such a striking difference. Similar to telling parents
artificial feeding costs $3000 a year when in my area at least it would be
impossible to do that without birthing multiples. I am not arguing this
picture's tragicness, sadness, accuracy etc, but frankly I find it does
nothing to support breastfeeding in *my* corner of the globe.

Now if I lived in Pakistan....
