Sounds like this mom is breaking down muscle tissue for fuel to make this
excessive supply of milk.  Something has to be wrong for her to be
producing this incredible amount of milk, and to be causing such wasting.
I would definately recommend an endocrinologist.
        Is there any possibility this is a type of bulemia?  Could she be
purging by pumping large amounts of milk?  Is she aware of how thin she
is?  If she shows distortion of her body image (considering herself fat)
this might be the case.  I have had a few clients with bulemia, and
noted they had excessive supplies while bingeing and purging.
        Good luck in helping this woman to find someone to take her
situation seriously.
