Oh I don't know Laura- I'd jump right to the oversupply conclusion! Wonderful that there is no nipple pain. Give her the article from Int BF Journal. That article suggests 4 hours per side. My experience is to start right off with 6 hrs for a few days. If that doesn't work try 8 hrs. Baby has all the sx of a baby trying to deal with oversupply and doesn't deserve to be so uncomfortable. he is nursing so many times because his tummy is giving him a message and the only way he knows to interpret it is to beg to nurse again. Or she can get donate her milk or borrow another baby. Sorry to be so facetious, but I'm seeing more of this (oversupply) all the time.. Babies all have the same sx. Nurse frequently, gain excessively, unhappy & fussy, many have green stools. All the moms who have called me recently about this are pondering fore milk /hind milk imbalance. Yes, it sort of is that BUT it really is a sheer volume imbalance. I wish I had known this 46 years ago!!! Pat in SNJ
