Catherine,
My reason to post to Lactnet was in the sense of dealing with the problems of
a 6 month old. Strictly to get ideas for increasing time spent at breast of
the older baby with a mommy who's been breastfeeding solely from one breast.
How many times do we see a mom willing to breastfeed strictly from one breast,
eh? And also treated for PPD? Needless to say, I've spent a lot of time
combatting the notion from everyone, including the physicians that she wouldn't
be able to provide enough milk for her baby. Since I usually have moms
breastfeeding with 2 breasts and fat, roly-poly 6 month olds, I felt it wise of me to
ask the group for recommendations. And, I recall amongst a few others, Dee
Kassing responding appropriately to my inquiry; that the SNS usually doesn't
work when introduced at this later age. I was grasping for straws as to any
other thoughts I may have been missing.

Thanks for your reasoning behind bringing up the medical conditions. But,
since I am experienced, these conditions would have been noted earlier on in the
course of my management. Namely, the tongue tie never existed and the baby
never exhibited with any signs of respiratory distress. And, I'm still
struggling to see the correlation of these medical conditions to the case.

But, the important thing is that baby will accept a bit of bananas now, and
the breastfeeding is going smoother.
