Tammy Schilling wrote: We had a mother a while back in our LLL
group who donated loads of things (mother's milk tea, pump, bras, clothes,
etc.)
that she had bought while pregnant, after she decided to give up
breastfeeding
after a few weeks. For her, these things were the "stuff" of a lifestyle
that,
I think, sounded "cool" to her and she wanted to try it out.

That strikes me as so sad! That this mom could know about all the "things"
she "needed" to breastfeed, but didn't learn all the benefits of bf that
would've convinced her to continue more than a few weeks. I'm not saying she
didn't learn anything at your group, Tammy, just that, for whatever reason,
this mom bought all the extras and somehow missed what's really important
about how to feed her baby. Unfortunately, that may say more about marketing
of the "stuff" than anything else, which gets back (in a way) to Magda's
point.
