Here in Alberta Canada we also do not recommend that mom's breastfeed when they are using marijuana. All the research i have read says there are no studies that say it is safe. I go by what the medication and mothers milk book by Dr Hale which list marijuan as a L5.However, i went to a conference in Saskatchewan and there is a Dr who is associated with Sheway House in British Columbia. His name is Dr ron Abrahams.. He said it is a risk benefit issue. Do the risks of a breastfeeding mom who is taking marijuana out weight the risks of feeding formula. Interesting statement to think about.
