report in 'Scotland on Sunday' that a 21 month old girl has been granted
legal aid to sue the manufacturer of her mother's breast implant. Her
mother claims the child suffers painful stomach cramps, bowel problems,
blisters, skin rash and allergies as a result of being breast-fed (sic)
She had the implant fitted for medical reasons.
Mother felt unwell from 7 months pregnancy, and had implant checked when
experiencing sharp pains on feeding. It was then discovered that it was
leaking. 'There were air bubbles and breast tissue in the implant' the
mother says.
There is an older child, and the mother believes he was affected by silicone
crossing the placenta before he was born.
