Get that baby to an ENT, this right here is an indicator to me. My son was
the same way although he gained nicely (I suspect because we laid down a lot
to nurse). It sounds like this child has large adenoids or something
blocking his airway. She needs to observe him sleep and if he struggles on
his back then at the very least, put him on his side. He probably relaxed
when you put him in the colic position because he could breathe better. His
cap. refill I am guessing is bad because of his circulation, or lack there
of. My son got RSV when he was two months old, before anyone would believe
me that my son couldn't breathe, his blood oxygen was terrible, once he was
suctioned it went up, but never was 100% until after his surgery. My son
would eat a ton of little meals, it seemed like he was CONSTANTLY eating but
they were short meals, he was colicky until I had the good sense to keep him
at one breast for hours, then his green stools went away and he was happier.
His short feeds where because he couldn't breathe, he would nurse and then
just when my milk let down he would get tired, he would lay there and not
suck because during the let down he didn't have to, only swallow.

Let me just say that my son was happy and healthy even though he had this
condition, but I truly think it's because I was overly attentive and
practicing my CLC skills on him :O)
