Yes, this mom is a rare bird- and to be congratulated! Most ECHMO baby's have
sucking and feeding problems, but I' ve always encouraged moms of trached
baby's to try to breastfeed; because they have an intact airway, and because
they can control the flow of fluid better from the breast than from an
artificial nipple, they often do great, especially a BPD baby. Good luck!
