>Baby was makeing clicking sounds,

Is baby's tongue white? Has she had a red bottom? Diaper rash? Did mom
and/or baby have antibiotics with the birth or since?

Babies with thrush often click while feeding and they sometimes feed for
short periods of time because their throats are sore. Not all babies
suffer with thrush, but a sore throat is one of the symptoms. Adults that
have oral thrush affirm that the throat is very sore.

Baby was perhaps feeding ineffectively all along but mother's milk supply
may have been more than adequate, supplying baby with plenty of milk. If
thrush is ruled out, I recommend cranial/sacral treatments if you have
practitioners around.

I also would encourage mom to pump along with her herbals.
