Dear Roni,

While I have no doubt that the bonding experience can be influenced by the birth experience, it is not true that other mammals do not neglect/abuse and even kill their young.  Iv'e seen it happen in dogs and horses and heard of it in other mammals as well.  It is certainly not the norm, but it most certainly does happen.  Child abuse/neglect/murder has been around since the beginning of time and has its roots in many places - I suspect that the birth experience may not actually be very high on the list of causative factors.
