Brenda talks about finding another ped who would clip a frenulum for
a mon and then states:
"(and you can bet I will report the outcome to the other
pediatrician!)"

My reaction is "NO, NO!"  Have the mom report the outcome to the
other pediatrician.  I think it will carry a lot more weight.
Sorry, but it looks like the "older" doc doesn't put much weight on
what you see (haven't we all been there?!) or say, so I wonder if he
will really believe what you say about the difference it makes.  On
the other hand, if the mom reports how much better she feels and how
much better baby is nursing and she wishes she could have gotten it
taken care of sooner etc. etc., it should definitely make an
impression.  Especially if she gives any hint that she might
consider transferring to the second doc or says something like "If I
hear of other moms having the same problem, I'll be sure to give
them Dr. x's name."  Not only is this more likely to affect the
doc's thinking, this approach empowers the parents to take more
control over the care their infant receives.
