Marsha,
Thanks for the heads up on the Mead Johnson website calling Enfamil "The
Breast Milk Formula". I looked through the site again and found page after
page of deceptive advertising, information, and Code violations. One of the
worst things I found mentioned several times was that a recent survey showed
that 9 out of 10 mothers give their babies some or all formula in the first
year so you can feel confident that you are doing the right thing! Also,
their toddler nutrition information has no inclusion of breastmilk as part
of their healthy diet.
At Target yesterday (a popular US discount store), there was an end cap sale
display with Enfamil's new "Premium" formula. I noticed that there is no
longer any statement about breastfeeding being better for babies, just "if
you decide to give formula..."
You can be sure I'll be sending a letter to the FTC...again!
