Subject: Re: Rancid Milk unable to store a supply

The rancid milk is likely high oxidation, I worked with a mother on this
 recently
.

She had to
remove
 supplemental
PUFAs from her diet and found the milk she was drinking had anchovies
added. We were able to
increase the time her milk could be stored in the fridge to 24hours. She
did find that she can store milk in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Another
key factor is not to heat the milk as that speeds the oxidation. In fact,
that is how we were able to determine that it was oxidation, when she
heated the milk for what she suspected was high lipase, she found it
immediate tasted 'like throw-up'.

This is what we worked on:
1) Reduce strong oxidizing agents such as Iron or copper (typically from
water source).
2) Add antioxidants to diet, vitamin E, vit C, beta carotene
3) Reduce PUFAs in diet: Fish oil, Flaxseed, chia , etc
4) Avoid foods like anchovies that contain rancid fats
