Another good strategy when people criticize you for breastfeeding, or
breastfeeding for a particular length of time, is to say "I'm following Dr.
____________'s orders."  You can fill in the blank with "Dr. Sears" or "Dr.
Newman" or even "Dr. Dettwyler" and let people think this is the name of
your pediatrician.

I was on the parent-l email list years ago with a young mother from Indiana
whose own mother thought the pediatrician's name was Dr. Penney.  The
grandmother was confusing Penney's with Sears -- both the names of
department stores in the US.
