story about a postpartum dog (whose puppies were already sold…like whisking
human babies away from their mamas right after delivery??) that nursed baby
squirrels (but “after two weeks, they were old enough to be weaned” …reminds
me of a friend who told me of breastfeeding, “I did that 6-week thing, I’m
done”)

the dog is called a “foster mom” ( in my dream world, all young foster
children are breastfed by their foster mother)

read the comments, where one person writes says “…now how's a dog supposed
to chase 4 baby squirrels when they're attached to her teets..??” ( the
misspelling is the writer’s, not mine) and another reader responds “teets!
what a word...” (I wonder if s/he is unfamiliar with the word “teat” and
thinks someone made up a new word, or thinks the intended word was “tits,”
or is just

amused because it’s talking about the breast in a *functional* context
instead of the usual, normal sexual one…)

amused and feeling feisty,
