Having had a large fibroid cyst removed from my left breast as a very young
woman, I am daily thankful for the (former army) Doctor who performed this
procedure. His name was Bhimani. His wife was my Gynecologist.
At a time in my life when I had given absolutely no thought to what my
breasts were actually for ... and was truly grateful for a "legitimate"
reason to have some of them removed, the Drs Bhimani were very careful to
preserve function.
Maybe because in their culture the function of the breast was often the
difference between life and death. Whatever the reason, they were
outstanding.
My husband's Aunt now works at the hospital where the Drs Bhimani practice,
so I have had many opportunities to send them warm thoughts and words of
thanks.
