Hi Judy,

I was the one who sent the post to Lactnet but it didn't think it up. It
was from a speaker at the NMAA intl conference in Sydney in 1997. I too was
struck by the simplicity and right feeling of this statement. I am glad
that you also found it useful.

As an aside. I am excited because I will be doing a presentation at the
NMAA's Intl conference in Brisbane next year. I am looking forward to the
presentation but I am also looking forward to meeting some people I have
'met' via Lactnet. At the last conference I hardly knew anyone and spent a
great deal of time trying to look like I wasn't on my own (anyone know the
feeling?), I am sure it won't be a problem this time.

I don't remember the original Lactnet author's name, but it sure had an
impact on me: "A primary role of the father is to teach the baby that
love and comfort are not necessarily associated with food."
